-
Pools previously coated with EPOXY will require abrading and cleaning before Superior Pool Paint can be applied.
-
Superior Pool Paint cannot be applied to chlorinated rubber or acrylic pool coatings. These must be removed completely.
-
Preparation of the pool should be with a cleaner degreaser and high pressure washed with clean water, then given sufficent time to dry before coating.
-
To test the dryness of concrete, gunite or plaster pool surfaces, securely tape a .5m by .5m piece of clear plastic onto a horizontal and vertical surface at the deep end of the pool.
-
Check after 24 hours. If water condensation is visible under the plastic, this is an indication that the surface is not completely dry, and NOT suitable for coating.
-
Avoid painting in hot midday sun. Application is recommended early in the day or late in the afternoon when at least 2 hours of sunlight remain after completion of the job.
-
Make sure that both tins are stirred thoroughly before mixing together and that the combined quantity is also mixed well before application.
-
1:1 Part mixing is acceptable if a whole kit quantity is not required.
-
One 7.56 litre kit will cover between 35-40 square metres per coat, depending on the substrate and application method.
-
The 2nd coat can be applied the following day, and best before 48hrs has lapsed.
-
A 3rd coat may be applied if required.
-
When application is complete, allow your pool to remain empty for 5-7 days to fully harden before refilling.
